About Jennifer
I was born to be a realtor. All of my life's experiences, both personally and professionally, have brought me to this career.
I lived on a farm until I was 5 years old and then we moved to town. We rented an apartment. Then my parents bought a home in the same neighborhood. When I was in high school, my mother built a house. I was fascinated by the whole process! When I went to Auburn, I rented/lived in several apartments. When I moved back home to Bay Minette, I realized that even though I made a decent salary, I wasn't able to afford a place on my own to rent. It wasn't until I was engaged, that I/we were able to purchase a piece of land, and then locate and purchase a used mobile home for married life. During that time, my father passed away and I ended up with an inheritance from my grandfather. It was a beautiful 200 acre piece of land. I learned everything I could about leasing property, gathering bids for timber harvesting, long leaf pine replacement, how to rid cogon grass, and working with government agencies such as the USDA, NRCS, and FSA. Without their guidance, I wouldn't have a successful, productive tract of land. I also spoke at a small forestry conference for women just like me. I shared with them my experience of inheriting a piece of land that men in my family had always taken care of and that we could do it, even if we didn't know how. It was a powerful experience.
My husband and I built our own home. We've gone through the ups and downs of home ownership. I feel I'm now an expert on the degradation of pipe fittings caused by the acidity of well water and trying to get a class action lawsuit to pay for a portion of that loss. I understand the impact of roof leaks, wells and pumps, grinder pumps and septic tanks. And of course the breakdown of A/C units, water heaters, and appliances. All of this in just the 19 years we've had our home!
Professionally, I've worked at a poultry processing plant. I understand hard work for low pay. I understand what each dollar means to you and what it took for you to earn it. I've worked at Mercy Medical. I understand when life changes unexpectedly and you end up somewhere you never dreamed and things may never go back to the way they were. I've been an elementary school teacher. I understand the value of being educated and knowledgeable in order to succeed. I understand as a teacher and as a parent that you want to keep your family in a safe environment.
I bring all these puzzle pieces of my personal and professional life to my career.
My question to you is, how may I serve you?
My promise to you is to treat you as if you're my sibling or one of my close friends. If I wouldn't do the deal, I'm not going to tell you to do it. I realize this is one, if not THE most important buying/selling decisions you will ever make. Let me help guide you through the process.
