Born and raised in Chicago, Deena Cooper-Hammond has a passion for our city's real estate. A true native Chicagoan, Deena was born on the West Side in the Garfield Park neighborhood and then moved with her family to the South Side to the South Chicago neighborhood, where she graduated from Whitney Young High School. After graduating college (with a degree in Accounting from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA) Ms. Cooper-Hammond of course felt called back home and returned to our city, marrying and moving to North Lawndale where she and her husband raised 3 children, now with 2 grandchildren. She still resides here in a greystone multi-unit building she owns and manages, as her family has deep ties to the neighborhood spanning five generations.
