Kathleen Ptak Hochstedt was born in Chicago's Northwest Side,Jefferson Park area. She is a graduate of Notre Dame High School for Girls, and  studied Cosmotology in Chicago, receiving her license in 1967.

         Carrying her creative education further, Kathy received her Diploma in Interior Decorating from La Salle University in Chicago.

Fate prevailed, and Kathy met and married her husband while holding the top female sales position with a large cosmetic firm. Subsequently, they moved to Downers Grove and had 3 wonderful sons, who kept her on the move.Sadly, the marriage ended, and she raised the boys single handedly with much joy. She was involved with their schooling, sports, and even became a Soccer coach herself!!! 

Official Airline Guide, Oak Brook, was a perfect landing spot for Kathy's sales expertise, where she received the coveted Customer Focus Award from Dun and Bradstreet.

The right timing and her sales record drew her to the Mortgage Broker Industry where she's been licensed for over 30 years. She achieved Million Dollar Club in 1992 personally, and her team earned Top Broker awards in 2001 and 2002.

Paying attention to the client’s needs, she attended all her closings, thus helping her become more informed in Title company procedures, and Real Estate Attorney protocol.

Kathy just naturally continued her pursuit of knowledge and has been licensed as a Real Estate Broker for 15 years.

                Kathy's extensive knowledge, and experience in the housing industry along with her keen eye for design provides her with a unique view of the real estate market, and market trends that she is able to share with her clients to help them make the best decisions for their needs and desires. 

Based in Downers Grove, Kathy is the expert to help you with all your home buying and selling  needs in Oak brook ,Lombard , Westmont,, Woodridge , and Naperville, and Plainfield, to name a few.

Kathy truly understands the dynamics of the real estate market and is an expert at educating her clients. Kathy holds her CNC (Certified Negotiation Consultant) as well as her CSC (Certified Staging Consultant) Despite Kathy's extensive experience, she believes that education is paramount and in order to stay on the cutting edge of her industry, she attends as much training as she can.

Kathy is a member in good standing of MORE (Mainstreet Organization of Realtors) Nar (National Association of Realtors) also to MLS (Multiple Listing Service. In addition, she is a member of the Downers Grove, Darien, Lisle, Woodridge and Willowbrook/Burr Ridge Chambers of Commerce. Kathy is a licensed clown . COD (College of Du Page) and has worked with the Special Olympics and children in hospitals, and private parties.

Kathy helps the community donating her time to Feed the Hungry Children, building bottle schools in Guatemala, and to Habitat for Humanity. To date EXIT Realty has donated over 2.25 Million to the charity and built more that 15 Habitat homes. Locally she has given her Cosmetology service to Locks of Love for children with Cancer.

Kathy has rehabbed her home, and finds much joy in creating a visual paradise in her garden .where she loves to share time with her family .Oh and yes, she is a great cook!!!

She enjoys travel and has been to Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean. She has also traveled throughout the United States
